Description
Mike Greer, PhD charges through his autobiography with the same grit as he charges through life. Kansas born, and West Texas raised, Greer revisits his multi-faceted life from his younger days of high school and college football stardom, national college track championships, a pinnacle of lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve, and later onto business and entrepreneurship.
Greer is best known as the founder and innovative triathlon race director for the Buffalo Springs Lake Triathlon. (later designated as IRONMAN 70.3 event) providing one of the most challenging courses in the world. Greer tackles life’s trials and tribulations through humor and a fierce determination to overcome life’s obstacles, charging forward sometimes for the better, other times not so much, but always taking life by the horns.
Once Greer sets a goal, he doggedly reaches it no matter what kind of road spikes are tossed onto the pavement before him. A recent goal, that for most of us would be ridiculously unattainable, was to complete 400 triathlons before he reached eighty years of age. A stroke nearly thwarted his aspirations when he was only eight events shy, but as Greer always seems to do, he pulled through with the heart and soul of a gladiator. You will enjoy reading life’s highlights from an original hard-ass Texan named Mike Greer. Don’t miss the forward by triathlon legend Scott Tinley.
