Dear Friends,<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you do much self-reflection?  Marti and I have found that it is a great tool for us to use in our personal and professional lives. At the end of each race season, we reflect on what went well at our races and how we could improve. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since 2006 we have dreamed of moving our race into Lubbock in order to find smoother roads for cycling, cross the finish line at the Texas Tech stadium and to create a more spectator friendly course. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are excited to announce to you that we are partnering with the city of Lubbock to create our dream race: Ironman 70.3 Lubbock<\/b>! Our city government officials, led by Mayor Dan Pope, have been intentional about developing a culture of fitness in the Lubbock area. In just a few short years we have seen the creation of bike lanes, the Mayor’s Marathon and the Mayor’s Fitness Council.  Adding the Ironman 70.3 Lubbock is a natural fit for us and for the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marti and I know you will love this course: a new swim venue within the city limits, a bike course that will still take you through Horseshoe Bend Canyons, a 2 loop run through the scenic Texas Tech campus, and a Red Raider finish at Jones AT&T Stadium. <\/span><\/p>\n
