BSLT race management has established a policy that we may alter the race based on extreme weather conditions. You will be advised the day before if changes are required.

WATER TEMPERATURE:
The water temperature in Ransom Canyon Lake, on the average, is 70-74 degrees. In May the water temperature may be closer to 65 degrees.  It is a spring fed lake so it stays cool; therefore, you should bring your wetsuits. Wetsuits are allowed with 78 degrees or cooler.

AID STATIONS:
Aid stations will be in transition area & run turnaround. Water, fluid replacement, ice, etc., will be provided along the course. A medical team will be on hand along with 1 ambulances in the course area.

  • Clydesdale/Athena Division:
    Weight Class Division. In events where a weight class division is different, the minimum weight shall be 220 pounds for men and 165 pounds for women, monitored by the event organizer. The weight class age categories for men and women shall be 39 years of age and under and 40 years of age and over. Participants are not eligible to complete in a weight class division and in an age group division at the same event.
  • Relays: Mixed, Male and Female divisions.

Training Opportunities

IM 70.3 Lubbock Triathlon Training Camp — May 23 – May 25, 2020

This three-day intensive triathlon training camp will prepare you for the IRONMAN 70.3 Lubbock race on June 28, 2020. The camp is based around developing your race plan for the Ironman 70.3 Lubbock triathlon.  You will swim and ride and run the course.  You will climb the infamous hills in the canyon.  The camp coaches will guide you through the techniques and strategies to make this your best IRONMAN 70.3 ever!

The camp is designed for the beginner to advanced level triathlete.

  • Where: Lubbock, TX
  • Cost: $400 per person until March 29; $460 April 1 – April 29; $525 May 1 to closing date of May 18.
  • CoachesSport Speed Lab
  • Included: All training nutrition, SAG, Education and Strategy Sessions and SWAG.  The camp is coached by professional triathlon coaches from Sport Speed Lab.  There will be full support on the bike course including roaming SAG and aid stations. The run will be supported with aid stations and roaming SAG.
